– [Press release] Feminist foreign policy issues enter the presidential campaign

[Paris, February 25, 2022] – Several countries, including France, claim to practice “feminist diplomacy.” Opportunities are emerging this year to transform this concept into genuine feminist foreign policies. Equipop and its partners have organized a series of meetings and appeals to bring this issue to the forefront of the presidential campaign.

A specific advocacy on SRHR

At the end of 2019, Equipop initiated an international mobilization that led the FGE organization to endorse the existence of an SRHR action coalition. Equipop therefore contributed to the work surrounding this coalition through several entry points.

After the Generation Equality Forum

A total of $40 billion for gender equality was announced in Paris in early July 2021, including $23 billion from governments. This impressive aggregate figure will remain an abstraction unless each individual commitment is fulfilled.

– November 20 march: the fight against gender-based and sexual violence, a political issue

As they have done every year for more than twenty years, feminist associations and networks around the world will mobilize at the end of November to denounce gender-based and sexual violence. In France, the demonstration will take on particular significance, five months before the presidential election and with more than 100 femicides already committed in 2021. Here is […]
