"The Alliance has demonstrated its experience in SRHR."

Portrait of Agathe BLANC

Interview with Agathe Blanc, program manager atAFJCI (Association of Women Lawyers of Côte d'Ivoire) and spokesperson forAlliance Droits et Santé in the SRHR coalition of the Generation Equality Forum.

How did the Alliance Droits et Santé network position itself?

The Alliance's participation is a major undertaking that demonstrates its commitment to integrating global initiatives promoting SRHR. The Alliance's position within the coalition has been twofold. First, by sharing our experiences in implementing ECS (#JeVeuxSavoir campaign, subregional partnership), we have helped to make ECS a major and consensual theme for all leaders of the SRHR coalition. Second, by giving a voice to French-speaking African countries, which very often do not have access to these global discussion platforms.

What has this involvement in the international process brought to Alliance Droits et Santé?

Our involvement in this process has undoubtedly raised the profile of the network and, above all, of the actions we are taking to improve the health and rights of women and girls in West Africa. It also positions us as a partner of choice for SRHR interventions in French-speaking West Africa. Indeed, through its active and constructive participation in the development of the coalition's roadmap, the Alliance has demonstrated that it has proven experience and can act as an interface between the coalition and SRHR actors in West Africa.
