– World AIDS Day: for a feminist approach!

On December 1, World AIDS Day, associations are unanimous: the COVID-19 pandemic is jeopardizing the progress made in the fight against HIV/AIDS, particularly in terms of testing. At the same time, this crisis is exacerbating gender-based inequalities and violence. All of these issues are intrinsically linked. It is therefore more important than ever to align agendas through a feminist approach.

The year 2022 will be a particularly strategic year for this transition. It marks the 20th anniversary of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The 7th replenishment to raise funds for this initiative will be hosted by the United States, which has shown its willingness to reinvest in the global agenda for gender equality. With Canada, Sweden, and now Germany advocating feminist diplomacy, France will have a platform to demand the integration of feminist approaches in the implementation of the Global Fund's new strategy.
