About us

What is it?

The Sororités francophones cycle aims to nurture the thoughts and reflections of feminists in francophone spaces. This cycle is intended to be a place for meeting, exchanging and creating knowledge, and for reappropriating the narratives of francophone feminist voices.

During our bi-annual digital meetings, experts from different French-speaking regions come to shed light on feminist themes. Whether from West Africa, the Maghreb, the Atlantic territories (the West Indies, Haiti, etc.) or Europe, our speakers will plunge us into their thoughts, their spaces and their realities from different angles and through different themes.

With whom?

Sororités Francophones was made possible thanks to collaboration between the Réseau des Jeunes Féministes d'Afrique de l'Ouest, ISIT Paris and Equipop.

This cycle is aimed at French-speaking feminists: activists, researchers, activists, students, feminist organizations from French-speaking civil society...

Why?

It's important that we work together to create benevolent, sororal spaces that amplify the voices of feminists and make their struggles more visible.

TO ANSWER TO WHICH QUESTIONS?

  • What is sisterhood? How do you live it every day? How do you encourage it on a daily basis?
  • How can sisterhood be a tool used by feminists for the well-being and protection of activists?
  • How do you manage tensions and conflicts within a space that you want to remain benevolent?
  • How can the collective increase the scope of our individual mobilizations?
  • What can be done to combat violence against feminists?

The Sororités francophones podcast

⚠ This podcast tackles the subject of sexual violence and can create uncomfortable situations for some people.

This podcast, conceived by Equipop and the Réseaux des jeunes féministes d'Afrique de l'Ouest, is part of the Cycle Sororités Francophones. It aims to be a place for meeting, exchanging and creating knowledge, producing political thought and reappropriating the narratives of francophone feminist voices.

It gives the floor to experts who shed light on feminist themes. Hailing from various French-speaking regions - West Africa, the Maghreb, the territories of the Black Atlantic (the West Indies, Haiti, etc.) not forgetting Europe - the speakers share their thoughts, their spaces and their realities from different perspectives.
