On Wednesday, April 14, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) published its annual report. The 2021 edition is entitled "My Body, My Rights: Claiming the Right to Autonomy and Self-Determination". Throughout the day on April 14, launch events will take place around the world. Equipop is facilitating the online event for France on April 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. The report will be presented by Diene Keita, Deputy Executive Director of UNFPA and Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, formerly Minister of Cooperation and African Integration of Guinea.
The speakers will explain how the report's content relates to their respective areas of expertise and will discuss the following questions: How can public policy be changed to better address sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues? How can bridges be built with young feminist movements? What role does France play in the global SRHR community, and how does this relate to the Generation Equality Forum action coalition? How are these issues reflected in France's feminist foreign policy? How can parliamentarians ensure political and financial follow-up?
