This discussion on medical violence provided an opportunity to explore how feminist and decolonial approaches can transform healthcare practices and health policies. The challenge is to move beyond a purely technical view of medicine to reveal the power dynamics linked to gender, race, social class, and colonial legacy that shape experiences of care. By valuing the knowledge of those directly affected and collective organizing efforts, the goal is to rethink the doctor-patient relationship around consent, dignity, and equity, and to make patients’ rights a catalyst for transforming the healthcare system.
An event co-organized with the Feminist Observatory on Medical Violence (ObsMed).
