In 2013, Equilibres & Populations launched the Alliance Droits et Santé network, which aims to improve the status and health of women and girls in West Africa. Beyond managing the technical secretariat, Equipop works daily to strengthen the capacities of each of the organizations and their teams. Equipop has therefore created a series of tailor-made training courses for the members of the World March of Women in Burkina Faso entitled: "Introduction to IT."
IT: an organizational and strategic challenge for organizations
A real organizational and strategic challenge for organizations, IT is one of the factors that drives their efficiency and performance.
With this in mind, Equipop led two training sessions at the World March of Women headquarters in Ouagadougou at the end of 2016. Each training session brought together around ten members of the association from all over the country. The aim was to give these women the opportunity to acquire basic computer skills (internet, software, office automation). Regardless of their field of activity, learning the basics of IT was an asset for them in terms of improving their professional performance, such as in processing and sharing data with headquarters. Before this training, they had to travel to Ouagadougou for even the smallest document to be signed, or else they were forced to print and send documents by road.

Customized training available for the network
For our beginners, Equipop has created a tailor-made training program for a step-by-step introduction to the use of:
- the computer,
- search engines,
- email accounts (creation and setup),
- Google Drive,
- Word and Excel,
- and raising awareness about IT security.
Despite some apprehension at the start of the training, members quickly grasped the usefulness of these tools in their work and expressed a desire to integrate them into their daily lives. "There's no doubt that IT will improve the way they work," Aminata told us.
These modules developed for the World March of Women are available to all member organizations of Alliance Droits et Santé. Other members will be able to benefit from tailored support and training. Next on the list: SOS/JD in Burkina Faso!
