"Walking the Talk"
What is it?
Walking the Talk is a consortium program that aims to promote the adoption and implementation of feminist foreign policies and gender equality policies in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the European Union. These inclusive foreign policies defend gender equality and reflect the voices of women and LGBTIQ+ people in countries in the Global South.
To achieve this, the program advocates for an increase in official development assistance (ODA) dedicated to gender equality and women's rights, particularly funding for progressive and intersectional feminist organizations in countries in the Global South.
With whom?
The “Walking the Talk” program is led by a consortium of organizations from various European countries: Equipop (France), Restless Development (United Kingdom), Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW ) (Germany), and Hivos (Netherlands—lead organization).
At the European level, ODI Europe is strengthening the program by expanding its reach and influence among EU policy-making bodies.
Why?
Feminist movements and civil society organizations remain key agents of change, but they continue to operate with limited resources.
