– Press release – “Human Rights” public speaking contest: violence against women

Paris, December 5, 2018 – The collective "Human Rights for All" is organizing the third edition of its public speaking competition. This year's theme is: "Human Rights: Violence Against Women." The contest will take place on December 15 at the Auditorium of Paris City Hall, following International Human Rights Day on December 10.

The public speaking competition organized by Collectif Droits humains pour tou-te-s (Human Rights for All Collective) is held in partnership with the Paris City Hall, the High Council for Gender Equality, and Causette magazine.

On December 15, 10 candidates will take turns arguing on the topic of "Human Rights: Violence Against Women." This topic echoes the 2018 National Cause and the President of the Republic's desire to make gender equality a priority during his five-year term.

The three best closing arguments, as judged by a "court," will receive awards.

Due to high demand, online registration had to be closed more than a month before the event. Three hundred people (activists, citizens, representatives of associations, institutions, and media outlets, etc.) will attend. This interest in the event reflects the topicality and relevance of the demands of the Human Rights for All Collective.
